Eva meets ……. Sir Kier Starmer Eva: This week on the politics show I’m pleased to welcome Sir Kier Starmer, UK Labour Party leader. Kier: Thank you Eva, it’s a pleasure to be here in GE City. Eva: Now, you’re leader of Labour, which is the opposition party in the UK House of Commons. Kier: That’s right Eva. Eva: And how would you sum up the performance of the governing Conservative Party? Kier: At the end of the day Eva, I think it would be fair to say that I am not inconsiderably under impressed by the Prime Minister’s substitution of buffoonery for leadership. Eva: So you’re obviously going to oppose anything the Government proposes? Kier: If it’s something sensible then yes, but if it’s patently daft then no. Eva: I’m not sure I get the logic of that. Kier: The public will remember the daft things and blame the Government so come the next election …. Eva: You win? But surely the country will be in a mess because of the daft things? Kier: That’s just a trifling concern. The important thing is that our cronies get five years at the feeding trough.
